Hardness

a property of a material:  A hard material is difficult to scratch or indent

Hardwood wood from a tree that loses its leaves in winter
Hazard a potentially dangerous activity
Health and Safety D&T activities must meet health and safety requirements. This is usually done by carrying out risk assessments and organising activities so that potential risks are controlled.
Heat Treatment changing the hardness of a metal by heating and cooling in a certain way
Heat Sink a metal plate used to conduct heat away from electronic components
Hem used to stop the edges of fabrics from fraying
High Tensile Steel a steel which is very strong in tension
High a term used to indicate a logic 1 state in digital electronics
HIP’s high impact polystyrene
Hydraulics a system of valves and cylinders which uses oil under pressure to provide movement
Hygiene the principles of maintaining health through cleanliness
Hygenic working in a clean and therefore healthy way i.e. food hygiene
