| Target
Audience |
a
particular group for whom a product or service has been designed; often
used in the media industries to describe the group of listeners or viewers |
|

| Taste
Tests |
investigations
involving tasting food in order to evaluate it. Such tests
might be concerned with comparing different foods to put the foods into an
order according to a taste e.g. sweetness, or to find out if the taster
can tell the difference between similar foods. |

| Teamwork |
working
as part of a group in which there is a shared goal. To achieve this
goal different members of the team may take on different roles |

a
process in which parts of a product are joined in a way which is easily
reversed e.g. nut

| Thyristor |
an
electronic component which can be used to control both ac

With ac current it acts as an electronic switch. With dc current it acts
as a latch. |

The
accepted degree by which parts of a product may vary from their nominal size

| Transistor |
A transistor is a solid
state switch. The current
being controlled enters at the collector, and leaves from
the emitter but will only do so if the base voltage is
greater than 0.7 volts. Many different types of transistor exist,
including special types like phototransistors, but the most
common are 'NPN bi-polar' types.
A transistor can also amplify
an output signal, often by several hundred times. This is
called gain (hfe) of the transistor. |
