Target Audience a particular group for whom a product or service has been designed; often used in the media industries to describe the group of listeners or viewers
Taste Tests investigations involving tasting food in order to evaluate it. Such tests might be concerned with comparing different foods to put the foods into an order according to a taste e.g. sweetness, or to find out if the taster can tell the difference between similar foods.
Teamwork working as part of a group in which there is a shared goal. To achieve this  goal different members of the team may take on different roles
Template a pattern used to draw round to reproduce the same shape over and over
Temporary Joint a process in which parts of a product are joined in a way which is easily reversed e.g. nut and bolt or velcro
Tenon Saw a saw used to cut joints in wood
Tensile Strength the maximum stretching force a material can withstand
Tensile Forces A pulling or stretching force
Testing investigating a product, component or material to find out how it performs in use
Textiles the generic name for any fabric material
Texture the way something looks or feels
Thermistor temperature  sensitive resistors

Thermoplastic plastics that soften when heated, harden when cooled and try to return to their original shape when re-heated
Thermoset plastics that after being heated and softened during manufacture cannot be changed or softened again
Thyristor

an electronic component which can be used to control both ac and dc current. With ac current it acts as an electronic switch. With dc current it acts as a latch.

Ties flexible structural members used to resist tension forces
Time Constant time taken to charge a capacitor to a specified voltage
Timer an electronic circuit which give a high voltage at its output for a period of time after being triggered
Time plan a chart showing when you hope to complete parts of a project
Tolerance The accepted degree by which parts of a product may vary from their nominal size (the size on a design drawing). Tolerances normaly have an upper and lower limit (eg +0.2mm and - 0.1mm).
Tools devices use to cut, shape, form and mix and join materials
Torque an applied twisting force
Torsion a twisting force
Tough difficult to break, tear or cut
Toxic harmful or
Transistor

A transistor is a solid state switch. The current being controlled enters at the collector, and leaves from the emitter but will only do so if the base voltage is greater than 0.7 volts. Many different types of transistor exist, including special types like phototransistors, but the most common are 'NPN bi-polar' types.

A transistor can also amplify an output signal, often by several hundred times. This is called gain (hfe) of the transistor.

Translucent a material that transmits light even though you cannot see through it
Transparent a material that you can see through
Tri-Square a device used for marking right angles
Triangulation dividing a framework into triangles to create strength and rigidity
